Located in Northeast Baltimore City, MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital is a 198-bed adult care community teaching hospital known as a specialty center for rehabilitation and orthopaedic while expanding its range of health care services to better serve those in our community.

Position Summary:
A professional nurse with advanced knowledge and assessment skills in a specialty area of pain and palliative medicine. Duties will be performed to assist families with navigating the health care system, to foster seamless rather than fragmented care and to maximize quality of life for the patient and their family. Demonstrates the role functions of advanced clinician, consultant, educator, researcher and leader/change agent. Also responds to individual, professional and societal needs related to the experience of serious or life-threatening illness through the nursing process.
Qualifications:
· Education: Master’s degree from an accredited Nursing School required. Graduation from a Nurse Practitioner program accredited by the Maryland State Board Examiners of Nurses
· Experience: Two years’ experience in palliative care and/or pain management preferred.
· License/Cert/Reg: Current Maryland or DC RN license and certified in Maryland or DC as an advanced practice nurse. Current BLS and ACLS required.
· Skills: Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred.
