Physical Medicine and Rehab

The University of Maryland School of Medicine’s Department of Neurology is recruiting two full-time Physiatrists to join our expanding Rehabilitation Division.We seek candidates who are interested in starting/continuing a PM&R career in a large academic medical center setting.The appointed physicians will primarily provide PM&R consultations and some inpatient coverage for patients with stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, multi-trauma and other rehab-related diagnoses.They will join a collaborative team of dedicated rehabilitation professionals that includes physical, occupational and speech therapists, rehabilitation physicians, and rehabilitation scientists within the University of Maryland hospital system.Clinical sites include the University of Maryland Medical Center and the University of Maryland Rehabilitation and Orthopedic Institute, Maryland’s largest acute rehabilitation hospital.There is also potential to be involved in clinical research and teaching of residents and medical students.

Candidates should be eligible for academic appointment to the University of Maryland School of Medicine at the Instructor or Assistant Professor level, have completed a residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) and be Board Eligible or Board Certified in PM&R.Appointment rank and compensation will be at a level commensurate with each applicant’s accomplishments.An excellent benefits package is provided including health, vision and dental insurance, CME allowance and retirement savings programs. There is a manageable 1:5 weekend call schedule with weeknights covered by the in-house hospitalist.
