Obstetrics and Gynecology - OB Hospitalist

HEADLINE:   Baltimore, MD: OB Laborist for large teaching hospital.  Leadership role!  Experienced preferred!  Teaching opportunity!  Their Division of Ob/Gyn is staffed with 18 Ob/Gyns, 2 Urogynecologists, 2 Gyn/Oncologists and 3 MFMs.  The dept does a high volume of deliveries.  Shifts are from 12 to 14 hours, including weekends and nights. 3 shifts per week or 12 shifts per month.  Level 3 NICU.  Robotic equipment available.  Responsibilities also include supervising and teaching residents as part of their ACGME certified program.  $ Excellent earning potential.

PRACTICE OPPORTUNITY:

• Located in Baltimore, Maryland, the Department of Ob/Gyn at a large teaching hospital is seeking to recruit a full-time OB Laborist to join their Division of Ob/Gyn.

• This preferred/ideal Laborist candidate is someone who has prior work experience.

Qualifications

• MD or DO of Foreign Equivalent from an Accredited Medical School
  
  
• Board Certified or Board Eligible
  
  
• Procedures to conduct; vaginal delivery, operative vaginal delivery, cesarean section, cesarean hysterectomy, laparoscopic salpingectomy for ectopic pregnancy, diagnostic laparoscopy, dilation and curettage
  
  
• Proficiency in utilizing Cerner a plus 
  
  
• The Division of Ob/Gyn is currently staffed with 18 general Ob/Gyn physicians, 2 Urogynecologists, 2 Gyn Oncologists and 3 Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians, and 2 certified nurse midwives and residents.  
  
  
• This stellar teaching hospitals’ Division of Obstetrics/Gynecology, a “Center of Excellence”, perform 2,000 births annually and have a Level 3 NICU.
  
  
• The unit is further supported by our team of Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists for high-risk pregnancies.
  
  
• The divisions of Gynecologic Oncology and Urogynecology are also available for surgical support as indicated. 
  
  
• Most of the Specialists have academic affiliation at several prestigious Medical Schools!
  
  
• This is a full-time position with regularly scheduled shifts that are from 12 to 14 hours and include weekends and nights.  3 shifts/week or 12 shifts/month.  ?4 weekend shifts per month-this would be on Sunday from 7 pm to 7 am.  On Sunday, the shift would be from 7 pm to 7 am.  Weekday shifts are from 5 pm to 7 am- so 2 weekday shifts/week. Holiday coverage on as needed basis. 
  
  
• Provide inpatient coverage for Labor and Delivery and OB triage
  
  
• Consult for post-partum and Emergency Departments
  
  
• Oversee Emergency Department and Gynecologic emergencies that includes but is not limited to miscarriages, ectopic pregnancies and complications of GYN surgery
  
  
• Manage labor floor that provides coverage of both low risk and high-risk pregnancies
  
  
• Perform vaginal deliveries as well as operative deliveries, cesarean sections, both primary and repeat procedures
  
  
• Provide inpatient coverage for Labor and Delivery and OB triage
