Pulmonary Disease - Critical Care

Western North Carolina community based healthcare system, outside of Asheville, seeks 2 Pulmonologist’s. This will be to work opposite of each other in a 7 on/7 off capacity.

*There are 15+ ICU beds. 

*The ICU is open, which means the hospitalist team will do all of the admissions which will allow for a lighter night call. 

*It will be mandatory that you teach Internal Medicine residents – there are 24 on site- 8 per year, round on each patient in the ICU, inpatient pulmonary consults, procedures, read inpatient PFT’s, and be available for night call.

*Night call will be feasible, as they will work to have a resident in the ICU with the nocturnist’s – you are hardly required to come in, need to be available to take calls. 

*There are noon conferences on Wednesday’s and Didactics on Friday which we will need a candidate to present a minimum of 2 presentations per year for didactics. 

*You will be required to preform PFT’s, Bronchoscopy, EBUS (not required but preferred). 

This North Carolina is about 1 hour from Asheville. People love living here for many reasons that range from work to weather as well as an amazing sense of community, beautiful landscape and southern charm.  This community is great if you enjoy hiking, mountain biking, camping, fishing, and kayaking. You can also enjoy wineries, outdoor concerts and festivals and a ton more.
