Facility:

This Level 1 trauma center is a leading healthcare provider in the Youngstown area. The facility features state-of-the-art equipment, uses EPIC EMR, and has a comprehensive neurosurgery department with both employed and non-employed neurosurgeons. The facility also houses neuro interventional radiology services on-site.

Opportunity: Board Certified - Neurosurgery

This is an ongoing locum tenens opportunity providing call coverage for neurosurgical services, managing urgent and emergent cases at a Level 1 trauma center. Initial coverage needed starting August 2025 with potential for ongoing assignments.

Job Details:

• 24-hour call coverage for one week per month, including weekends
• Hospital-based practice setting
• 8-12 hour shifts with 1-2 emergent cases per day on average
• Adult and geriatric patients, primarily seen through the Emergency Department
• Documentation through EPIC EMR system
• Required neurosurgery procedures include:
  • Brain bleed stoppage
  • Clot removal
  • Tumor removal
  • Trauma repair
  • Shunt insertion or revision
• Required spine surgery procedures include:
  • Spine stabilization and reconstruction
  • Vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty
  • Spinal fusion
  • Laminectomy
  • Diskectomy
• Must hold Ohio medical license
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• First assignment requires availability from 7AM August 27th through 7AM September 3rd

Compensation:

Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice insurance included. Lodging accommodations provided (approximately $150/night) with standard travel reimbursement policies.
