Hematology and Oncology

Location: Joplin, Missouri offers a mix of cultural attractions, including museums, parks, and a lively downtown area with shops and restaurants. Joplin continues to grow and thrive as a hub for commerce and culture in the region.

Facility: Home to the latest in cancer technology and treatments, including daVinci robotic assisted surgery, Elekta Versa HD, the most advanced linear accelerator in the region offering IMRT stereotactic radiation treatment and 3D radiotherapy, PET/CT scans, prostate cancer treatment with SpaceOAR Hydrogel and the region’s only automated breast ultrasound (ABUS).


Opportunity: Ongoing Hematology/Oncology Coverage Needed

*May 1, 2025 - Ongoing
* 24hr call coverage 1-2 weekends/month
* Primarily Hematology patients
* Procedures: Consults, follow-ups, possible bone marrow
* Call type: Beeper with some consultation
* Active MO license required

Would like a provider who can give 4 weeks a month starting in May through August, then in September through September of 2026, 2 weeks only , would rotate with Dr. Hassan, he’s covering 3 weeks every month so the two weeks may fall at end and beginning of a month, etc.

2 Fulltime Physicians and 2 Fulltime APP that staff the clinic.

Duties: Primarily med onc and hem patients
Procedures: Consults, follow-ups - possible bone marrow
Call Type: beeper with some consultation.

3. What does call look like in the week and weekend? Phone calls and sometimes need to round
4. Do you require BMT or BMB to be performed by the locum? Yes prefer, but can work around
5. Who admits new patients? Hospitalist
6. % of Hemonc versus to Medical Onc 40/60
7. Any Acute Leukemia? Or Malignant Hem? No
8. Will emergency privs be offered for the open dates within 60 days? Yes
